Playtech Founder May Reenter Online Casino Industry 23 Mar 2006 Timing was not always on Freddi Robinson’s side. As one of the first owners of the online casino software provider company, Playtech, Robinson has much potential to strike the gold when the company when public. However, Robinson sold his shares in the online casino software company four years ago. He lost out because he sold just before the online casino industry skyrocketed and his sale of 5% of his shares for $3.9 million in 2002 would have brought him $30 million four years later. Robinson, however, is eager to reenter the online casino industry and has been seeking ways to do just that. Recently, the online casino entrepreneur bough shares in a Greek-based casino called Loutraki. Robinson has also expressed interest in securing a deal with a Cyprus-based online casino gaming software firm to start a new online casino group under the Miloumor trademark. The venture which would be a marriage of experienced online casino companies would focus on central and Eastern Europe and would be powered by the Cypriot online casino software provider. Playtech, the online casino company that Robinson left behind is about to plan its IPO on the London Stock Exchange shortly and is expected to rake it in. Whether this is Robinson’s chance at a comeback remains to be seen, but he has a lot of catching up to do. | |||||
