Online Casino Poker Discussed at World Poker Congress

The annual World Poker Congress was held in Stockholm on June 26th and June 27th to discuss the huge growth of poker in the world. This year, the congress held two separate tracks, one dedicated to live poker and the other dedicated to online casino poker. The congress recognizes the fact that online casino poker plays a huge part in the overall success of the game. Since the congress generally believes that online casino poker influences live poker, and vice-versa, both tracks had a chance to meet and discuss common issues that affect them both.

There were interesting workshops available for those representatives who took the online casino poker track. Titles such as “European Legal Landscape: Can Europe Fuel the Next Online Poker Boom?” and “Mergers & Acquisitions: Should You Be a Seller or a Buyer?” enticed those from the online casino poker world. Issues of importance to the online casino poker segment of the gambling industry were discussed at length.

When the online casino and live poker tracks met, it was to discuss common issues such as legislation and the way that the two types of poker affect one another. For example, it was agreed that thanks to online casino poker, live poker was enjoying enormous popularity; while at the same time, many amateur poker players used online casinos to improve their game strategies before moving onto live tournaments.
